B4H Colorado is excited to announce two fantastic partnerships. Wheatridge Cyclery, and Full Cycle Bikes have partnered with B4H Colorado to help us collectede donated bikes. Bring in your old bike to WRC in the Denver area or Full Cycle in the Boulder area and they will give you a $25 credit toward the purchase of a new bike when you drop of your old bike; the bike will go to B4H Colorado. We just returned from the opening of our second bike shop installation in (click for Google Earth map) Singalamwe, Namibia. It was an amazing experience as 5 members of the local community received certificates for completing the training course and will now run the bike shop. 3 out of the 5 employees are women and for all it is their first paying job. The $30-$50 monthly salary will allow them to buy food for themselves and their extended families as well as pay for their kids to attend school. The pride and satisfaction among the 5 is easily felt.
14 bikes were also presented to mobile healthcare volunteers from Catholic Aids Action. The mobile volunteers will use the bikes to bring ARV's and other medications to HIV patients in the surronding community. Click on the pictures to enlarge.
